The Uhuru Watoro Project is a 501 (c) (3) organization based in Dade City, Florida, USA. Our mission is to share God`s love by providing an education, clothing, food and shelter for girls in the Dodoma region of Tanzania. We were founded on June 1, 2015 by Jill Finnerty Ricardo, Fr. Emmanuel Ndechihiro and Fr. Edwin Palka. In 2019, we have 30 girls attending school at St. Clara's Catholic School in Mlali, Tanzania as well as four boys who attend the Boy's Seminary in Bihawana.. We have received the support and blessing of the Archbishop of Dodoma, the Most Reverend Beatus Kinyaiya, O.F.M. Cap. and the Bishop of St. Petersburg, Most Reverend Gregory Parkes.
Our organization is made up entirely of volunteers and donors. We have no paid staff and our expenses at this time are limited to required governmental filing costs, some mailing costs, occasional printing and wire transfer fees. We try to limit the number of times we wire money to Tanzania to one or two times per year to save money.
The Uhuru Watoto Project is funded entirely by donations.
Thank you for your support of the Uhuru Watoto Project.
Your Donation Makes a Difference
When you donate to the Uhuru Watoto Project, you directly affect the life of a girl currently living in extreme poverty and for whom just $680, less than $2 a day, would make an impact on her entire life, the life of her family, village and future generations.
